DPS Trooper Seizes Over 90 Pounds of Marijuana After Traffic Stop

Iowa Park, Texas - A man has been placed behind bars after a traffic stop led to the discovery of over 90 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle.

On Thursday around 8:30 a.m., The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted a traffic stop on a 2015 Toyota traveling southbound on US 287, for a traffic violation, near Iowa Park in Wichita County.

The driver of the Toyota was identified as 30-year-old Nathan John Hendricks of Royse City, Texas.

During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana inside the trunk. Further investigation revealed over 94 pounds of marijuana valued at over $571,000.

Hendricks was placed under arrest for Possession and Delivery of Marijuana Over 50 Pounds but Less Than 2000 Pounds, and was booked into the Wichita County Jail.

The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from San Francisco, California to Royse City, Texas.
