Stephens County Road Repairs

Stephens County, OK – Flood damage from May and Tropical Depression Bill has caused nearly $200,000 in road damage across parts of Stephens County.

Chucks of county roadways have been washed away, while other sections, including a bridge, still remain underwater.  Four county roads, just to the north of Velma, remain impassable.  One County commissioner is hoping to change that by the end of the week.  Crews will continue working 10 hour shifts until the work is complete.

The county has four graders and four trucks used to make the road repairs.  The county is also having to bring in more gravel to put on the roads.  This is because the water washed a lot of it away.
