Police: Man Steals Meat from Walmart

Wichita Falls, Texas - A man is behind bars after he is suspected of stealing over $200 worth of meat from Walmart.

According to police, on Monday afternoon, around 4:53 p.m. officers responded to the Walmart on Greenbriar for a suspected robbery.

Walmart officials said they noticed the suspect, 30-year-old Anthony Simon, walking through the clothing section with a basket full of meat. Simon picked up a tote, put all the meat inside the tote and then made his way to the check out.

Simon paid for the tote, and various other items, but not the meat located inside the tote, before making his way outside.

Walmart officials attempted to confront Simon, but he ran, but not before he strong-armed one employee, and shoulder slammed another employee.

Officers later captured Simon at Murphy's. Simon has been charged with Robbery and is currently being held in the Wichita County jail with at $50,000 bond.

The total cost of the meat stolen was estimated to be $281.42.
