Police: Chase Ends in Arrest of Theft Suspect

Wichita Falls, Texas - A woman has been arrested after police say she led police on a chase following a theft from Walmart.

Officers received a call about a woman stealing from the Walmart located on Central Freeway. The woman allegedly stole a tire inflator, a steel pendant, a stereo installation kit, an iPod dock and a theft detection device. The woman was apparently attempting to leave through the Lawn and Garden section, and when Walmart employees attempted to stop her, she became violent and  pushed the workers.

Officers say they tried to stop her while she was in her vehicle, but she fled from. During the chase, she ran through multiple red lights and stop signs. Eventually, police pursued her to the corner of 6th and Austin where she struck a Pepsi delivery truck, hit curb and then slowed to a stop.

The woman, later identified as 38-year-old Andrea Shipman, was arrested. Shipman has been charged with Robbery, Criminal Trespass and Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle.
