Rescued Birds Released

Wichita Falls, Texas - Birds of a feather flocked together in Wichita Falls on Tuesday night after several Great Horned Owls were released back into the wild.

The owls were brought to Wild Bird Rescue in the Falls as babies.. Some found by law enforcement-- and others abandoned by their mothers.

The Executive Director of Wild Bird Rescue Cassandra Shinpaugh said, “They go through a rigorous evaluation. They need to be able to hunt on their own, fly effectively, be completely healthy and they have to pass all of those tests so they are ready to be released.”

Tuesday's event served as a fundraiser for the wild bird rescue organization.
