Rush Springs Watermelon Festival Queen Stops By Newschannel 6

Rush Springs, OK - The city of Rush Springs, Oklahoma is gearing up for its 71st annual Watermelon Festival. This year's event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 8 at Jeff Davis Park. The event themed around all things watermelon brings in more than 20,000 visitors each year.

Miss Sidney Long stopped by Newschannel 6 to talk about the festival and her reign as 2015 Rush Springs Watermelon Queen.

The event will feature watermelon activities, carnival rides, kid-friendly activities, arts and crafts, a classic car and motorcycle show, along with live entertainment and vendors.

The event is free to the public.
