Lawton Police: Woman Escapes After Being Kidnapped

Lawton, Okla. - Lawton police are investigating a kidnapping case after a woman was kidnapped Tuesday afternoon.

The 48-year-old woman told police she was walking along the 1800 block of Northwest Cache Road when two black males drove up to her and asked if she needed a ride.

When the woman declined, the driver pulled into the parking lot of a nearby restaurant, grabbed the woman and started to pull her into the truck.

The woman was able to break away, but the suspect grabbed her again and pushed her into the truck.

She told police the men drove about one block to a liquor store and the driver went inside. The driver reportedly bought a pint of Hennessy and paid cash. The woman kicked the other man in the groin, went inside the liquor store and asked the employees to call police.

The two men left in an unknown direction.

The store manager told police he had part of the encounter recorded on surveillance, but was unable to make a copy at the time. Police believe the truck was a GMC pickup.
