Man Indicted for Fourth of July Sexual Assault

Montague County, Texas – A man has been formally charged for a sexual assault that occurred in July of this year.
On Thursday, a Montague County Grand Jury indicted 18-year-old Joshua Tyler Belt for Sexual Assault.
According to the arrest affidavit, Belt sexually assaulted the victim, causing severe bleeding, disfigurement, and possible future physical problems after causing serious bodily injury.
Officials say the incident happened on July 4th, within the city limits of Bowie, at a home in the 300 block of Cherry Street.
The victim told investigators that Belt raped, choked, and beat her continually for 45 minutes. Authorities say the victim was also bitten multiple times, including on a finger when she attempted to push him off her.
