If you're interested in being a substitute teacher in the Wichita Falls I.S.D., the pay just got better.
Board members with the W.F.I.S.D. voted to approve the increases Monday night.
For the 2015 - 2016 school year substitute teachers with only college hours and no degree will now be paid $80 a day.
Those with a college degree will be paid $90 a day, and those with a college degree and teaching certification will be paid $110 a day.
The District’s Communications Officer, Ashley Thomas, says the reason for the increase is due to demand.
"The board is hoping that by doing this increase in pay for subs that we will be able to attract more substitutes to the district," Thomas said.
Thomas said the District hopes the increase in pay will attract subs on days where finding a replacement is difficult.
