Two Arrests Made in Gang Injunction

Wichita Falls Police said a traffic stop led to the arrest of two people.

On August 14th around 8:30p.m. the Gang task Force noticed an occupied vehicle parked in front of a residence in the 2100 block of Avenue F.  According to police, the officers recognized a man in the car as Derrick Gerard Kelly, a known defendant on the Hoova Crips Gang Injunction.  Officers later stopped the car in the 2900 block of Glenwood.  The second person in the car was identified by police as Samantha Canava.

As officers spoke with the pair, they noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  This car was searched as a result.  During the search, approximately three grams of cocaine and two grams of marijuana was found inside the car.

Canava and Kelly were both arrested and charged with possession of a substance over one gram and possession of marijuana under two ounces.  Kelly was also charged with Violation of Court Order Enjoining Organized Criminal Activity.
