One of the three suspects in the Domanic Thrasher murder case has pointed out who she says is the shooter who fired upon Domanic Thrasher.
On June 2, 2015, Wichita Falls Police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Yuma and Gunnison in reference to a shooting.
Officers discovered 21-year-old Domanic Thrasher lying in the street. Thrasher was non-responsive and had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Thrasher was taken to United Regional Hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.
According to an arrest affidavit, on June 4, 2015, information was received naming three individuals as possible suspects in the murder.
The person providing the information advised that the white female that was present during the shooting was named Whitney O'Brien.
The anonymous tipster also named the driver of the vehicle and the actual shooter. The anonymous tip indicated that the victim had been attempting to purchase an amount of marijuana from the driver and the shooter. The tip advised that when the parties met, the victim attempted to run off with the marijuana and was shot.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the alleged shooter was associated with O’Brien on Facebook.
On July 29, three separate interviews were conducted with cooperating witnesses who all advised that O'Brien told them that she had participated in the homicide of Domanic Thrasher on June 2.
All three of the cooperating witnesses advised that O'Brien told them that she had gone with the driver and the shooter to complete a drug transaction coordinated via text messages and calls, utilizing her boyfriend's telephone.
On July 31, investigators interviewed O'Brien who fully confessed her involvement in the murder of Domanic Thrasher.
O'Brien said that when the shooting occurred, she was in a vehicle with Justin Michael Love and Blayne William Brooks.
O'Brien said that Brooks had shot the victim, and Love had driven the vehicle.
Independent witnesses and items of evidence corroborated O'Brien's story. Arrest warrants were then issued for Brooks’ and Love’s arrest.
O’Brien is currently being held in the Wichita County Jail on a million dollar bond. Love is still being held in the El Paso County Jail in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Brooks has been charged with Murder, and was already being held in the Wichita County Jail for Aggravated Robbery. Brooks is currently being held on a $2,500,000 bond.
