Archer City High School Coach Resigns

Archer City, Texas - An Archer City high school coach has resigned from his position following charges that he sustained earlier this month.

Wesley Allen Johnson, Archer City’s Head Baseball Coach, Assistant Football Coach and Assistant Basketball Coach turned in his resignation Monday night, where it was accepted at the school board meeting.

The resignation follows an event that occurred earlier this August, when Archer City Police responded to a disturbance.

A woman and a witness told police that Johnson got into an argument with the woman in a home in 800 block of South Oak.

The witness also said Johnson broke dishes and pushed the woman during the argument.

Johnson was arrested and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury. Johnson later bonded out of jail.

No word has been released about his replacement.
