Police: Early Morning Call Leads to Felony Arrest

Wichita Falls, Texas – A man is behind bars after police say he threatened to shoot a person.

On Wednesday, around 1:00 a.m., patrol officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department received information that 39-year-old Marcos Garza made threats to shoot a person in the 5100 block of Kingston.  Officers quickly responded to that area.

While Officers were on scene, they observed Garza arrive and exit a vehicle.  Officers announced their presence at which time Garza began to flee on foot.  While evading Officers, Garza threw down a handgun.

Officers were able to get Garza into custody without incident in the 4800 block of Trinidad.

The weapon was recovered and found to be loaded.

Garza was transported to the Wichita County jail where he was charged with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Evading.
