Nearly 700 New Laws Become Effective in Texas

Texas - Nearly 700 new laws became effective on Tuesday.

Such laws include an age limit of the purchase of E-Cigarettes, a measure allowing some epilepsy patients access to THC cannabis oil, while other laws are strengthening restrictions on synthetic marijuana.

Other laws are doing away with criminal penalties for skipping school, elected officials accused of ethics crimes will now be tried in their home counties and "revenge porn," or posting explicit pictures of ex-lovers online, has becomes a crime.

Texans can also now use concealed-handgun licenses as valid IDs.
