Wichita Falls, TX - September is National Preparedness Month. It's a good time to make a plan with your family on how you would respond during natural disasters.
This year's theme is "Don't wait. Communicate. Make your emergency plan today."
It’s safe to say most of us are reactive versus being proactive when it comes to preparing for a natural disaster, but here's the thing, natural disasters can strike at any time.
Earlier this year, Texoma experienced flooding from the Wichita River. And currently we are at the tail end of wildfire and hurricane season. Those are just a few natural disasters we have to pay close attention to in north Texas.
Each week throughout the month of September, FEMA in partnership with America PrepareAthon are teaming up to provide people across the country with resources to make a plan so that you and your family know what you will do in an emergency.
