Lifeline for Larry

"We're asking everyone to come out and support Larry"

That was the plea outside the Wichita Courthouse earlier today, for a detention officer battling bone cancer: Larry Williams.

"Sometimes in detention, you see the worst of people, they're not real happy cause there going to jail, and being detained, explained WCSO Public Information Officer Melvin Joyner. "But, he talks to people, calming them down, and helps the process a whole lot.

Members of the Wichita County Sheriff's Office and members of the community stopped by show support and donate blood.

If you were unable to make it, you can visit the Texas Blood Institute located on Gregory Street across from Lowe's. The Texas Blood Institute is open Tuesday through Saturday. Mentions Larry's name when you arrive.
