Clay County Sheriff's Office Search for Burglary Suspect

UPDATE: The dog has been found!

Clay County, Texas – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect who stole several items, and a dog, from one of its deputies.

According to officials, around 7 a.m. Sunday morning, a Deputy with the Clay County Sheriff's Office was awakened to intruder(s) inside his residence.

The person(s) unsuccessfully attempted to gain entry into the locked bedroom of the deputy. The deputy was able to retrieve a weapon and give chase, which was unsuccessful.

A short time later the deputy discovered several items missing from inside his home, including his trained Labrador Retriever.
