Calle Ocho

It's that time of year again, Zavala is hosting their 6th Annual Calle Ocho Latin Festival in Downtown Wichita Falls. It's at the Farmers' Market at 8th & Ohio on October 3rd.

The festivities begin at 1 p.m. and run until 10 p.m. Tickets for entry cost $5 each, and children under 12 get in free.

This year, Zavala will host the first ever Tamale Cookoff. The best pork and chicken tamale will be picked by our celebrity judges.

You can also look forward to a variety of live entertainment, a jalapeno eating contest, Grito contest, Children's Area, Dance Competition, and various food and specialty vendors.

Proceeds raised during Calle Ocho will help fund local educational programs and college scholarships for our area youth to help them further their education.
