Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests

Two people are behind bars after a deputy found a large amount of marijuana, a gun, and cash in their vehicle.

The Wichita County Sheriff's Office said Deputy Justin Mitchell made the traffic stop around 3:30p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of U.S. 287 and F.M. 1739.  This is just outside of Electra.  The deputy found about 11 pounds of marijuana, a handgun, and $1,300.

Deputies then arrested 30-year-old Alexis Eliazar Martinez, and 40-year-old Maria Delroseo Zaragoza.  Both are charged with possession of marijuana over five pounds under 50 pounds.  Their bonds are set at $75,000 each.
