Nighthawks Announce New Coach

The Wichita Falls Nighthawks have announced the hiring of Billy Back as their new head coach.

Back joins the Nighthawks following four championship seasons in his six years of coaching and brings an impressive record of 60 wins with only 18 losses. Nighthawks Owner Drew Carnes said, “While Coach Back has a record that speaks for itself, it's his passion and enthusiasm that are exciting to see. He made sure that Wichita Falls would be a good fit for his family and they will be relocating here prior to the season. I expect great things for this team in 2016 and beyond.”

Prior to becoming the head coach of the Cincinnati Commandos in 2010, Coach Back spent six seasons playing indoor football in the NIFL, CIFL, AF2 and the IFL. In 2006, Back led the NIFL in all--purpose yards while being named the league’s player of the week on three separate occasions. He spent the past two seasons with the Nashville Venom in the PIFL, winning a league title in 2014.

“I am excited and anxious to be here in Wichita Falls and back coaching in the IFL. What has already been established and then redefined by Drew and his staff made this a no brainer decision for me and my family.” said Coach Back, “My number one goal is to put a team on the field that the city will be proud of not only to win games but as role models for the kids and first class citizens to the city.”

The Nighthawks will introduce Coach Billy Back as the new head coach at a press conference scheduled for October 13, 2015.
