Wilbarger County Sheriff Retiring

Wilbarger County Sheriff Larry Lee will not be seeking re-election in December 2016.  This is when his current term ends.

Sheriff Lee has been in law enforcement for 33 years.  He plans on spending his retirement focusing on farming and ranching.

Sheriff Lee was elected into office for two terms in 2008 and 2012.  He began his career as an officer with the Vernon Police Department in 1984.  Five years later he transferred to go to work for the Wilbarger County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Lee served as the sheriff for three years before running for the office.  At that time he was appointed to fulfill the unexpired term of former Sheriff David Quisenberry.
