Two People Facing Animal Cruelty Charges

Two people facing eviction from a rental property on FM 369 are now facing cruelty to animal charges.

According to the arrest affidavit, deputies with the Wichita County Sheriff's office went to the home in the 2600 block of FM 369 after the property owner told authorities there were dogs barking inside of the vacant home.

The property owner said the he and the two people he was evicting, 41-year-old Thomas Lewis Kraning and 31-year-old Ashley Rae Kraning had just been n court on September 8th for the eviction proceedings.  However, two days later, the Kraning's belongings and the two dogs were inside the home.  It was the same way when he returned on September 14th.

Deputies went to the home and described seeing the dogs, who were severely emaciated.  Their ribs, vertebrae, shoulder blades, and pelvic bones were showing.  Deputies also reported that the dogs did not have any food or water.

The Kraning's were arrested on October 3rd.  both are charged with cruelty to non livestock animals.
