Joe Says No

Vice President Joe Biden has announced that he will not be running for president in the 2016 elections.

The announcement was made just after noon eastern time today at the White House.

Biden, who is said to have been considering a run at the presidency for some time now, today said the window of opportunity for launching a campaign to win his party's nomination has closed.

Biden told the press gathered on the White House lawn that his family had not completed the process of grieving his son Beau Biden whom they lost to cancer this past May.

"I know from previous experience that there's no timetable for this process. The process doesn't respect or much care about things like filing deadlines or debates and primaries and caucuses," said Biden.

Biden did take the opportunity to point that though, he will not be running he will not be silent on the issues.

"I intend to speak out clearly and forcefully, to influence as much as I can where we stand as a party and where we need to go as a nation. And this is what I believe," said the Vice President.

Vice President Biden then he said was proud to have played a part in the current administration, and the nation would be making a tragic mistake if they attempted to undo the Obama legacy.
