Iowa Park Police have recovered most of the dogs that were reported stolen from the Animal Reclaim Center on Thursday morning. One person is in custody, according to the Wichita County Sheriff's Office.
At least 20 of the 26 dogs have been recovered, according to Iowa Park Police.
The dogs were stolen sometime between 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. Thursday morning.
The animals were originally seized from a property in Iowa Park on October 19. The dogs were part of a larger group of 34 dogs discovered in cramped living space, and covered in their own feces.
There is a court hearing on Monday to decide the fate of the dogs, according to Iowa Park City Manager Jerry Flemming. A judge will decide whether the dogs would go back to the owner, or if they would stay in the custody of Iowa Park Animal Control.
