First Step 2015 Candle Light Vigil

Domestic violence is a serious issue across the nation, including Texoma.

This is why First Step in Wichita Falls is hosting their 13th Annual Candle Vigil this week.  The event is taking place on October 29th at the Wellington Banquet and Conference Center.  It goes on from 6:00p.m. until 7:30p.m.

There will be two guest speakers at the event.  The purpose is to bring hope to survivors.

Officials said they experienced people who are afraid to talk to authorities that they are a victim.  On the other hand, some people do tell the authorities, but retract because they are scared of the abusers.

This is the 13th year for them to hold the event.

    A popular Nocona restaurant is serving up food once again after shutting down from fire damage. Bear's Den Diner caught fire two months ago after a trailer only feet away caught fire and heavy winds spread it to the restaurant. Bear Weller, the owner, said the only reason his kitchen is open is that of his customers.
