GOTW: Crowell Vs. Knox City

Our Newschannel 6 Game of the Week for Week 10 will be our first 6-man football game to be featured this season, with the #4 Crowell Wildcats visiting the Knox City Greyhounds! The game has been moved up to Thursday night, at 7:30 p.m., due to a forecast of heavy rain Friday.

The Wildcats are two-time defending 1A Division I State Champions, but this year's team brings back only a few players from those title teams.

Still, they are ranked #4 in the SixManFootball.com rankings, with their 4-3 record, and their only losses came to Division I #1 Happy, #2 Borden County, and Division II #2 Calvert.

They have also played much of the season without starting quarterback Tristen Hayes, who suffered a knee injury in practice the week before their game against Blum.

The Greyhounds started the season hot, 6-1 with their only loss also coming against Borden County, but they've also been hammered by injuries, and dropped their district opener to Aspermont last week, in double-overtime.

That means, Knox City must win this game to have a chance to make the playoffs. If Crowell wins, and Aspermont beats Rotan, then that sets up a game for the district title next week in Aspermont.
