Wildcats' Sime Named Star of the Week

Wichita Falls Wildcats goaltender Julian Sime was named the NAHL South Division's First Star of the Week Monday, the league announced.

Sime, a 17-year-old from Mississauga, Ontario, allowed just one goal on 33 shots faced in two wins over Corpus Christi this weekend, including his first career NAHL shutout on Saturday.

For the season he holds a 4-1-1 record and a 2.14 goals against average in six games, backing up Justin Kapelmaster.

"Julian made timely saves for us in both games this past weekend," said Wildcats GM and President Paul Baxter. "When it was a close game, he came up big for our team when we needed him most. He is a 1998 birth year player and we are confident he'll continue to develop, so we're excited to see his progress as he continues to improve."

This weekend, the Wildcats make their first trip to Amarillo this season, playing two games against the Bulls on Friday and Saturday.
