Man Trapped After Collision on Seymour Highway

A 38-year-old Wichita Falls man was in critical condition after he was trapped inside his Kia Optima for 30 to 40 minutes this morning, following an accident on Seymour Highway.

The accident happened around 8:40 a.m. in the 7800 block of Seymour Highway. D.P.S officials said the driver of an tractor-trailer stopped to make a left turn into a business, when the driver of the Kia slammed into the back of the truck and went underneath it. Firefighters from Wichita Falls and Wichita West had to use "the jaws of life" and special equipment to free the driver.

He was taken by ambulance to United Regional and has since been upgraded to fair condition.
