TAPS Public Transit is set to close its facility in Wichita Falls on November 25th.TAPS is a unit responsible for providing non-emergency medical transportation.

The decision to discontinue staffing the Wichita Falls location was made as part of a cost-cutting measures.

Service to Medicaid clients is not expected to be interrupted and the change will not impact any scheduled trips.Eleven TAPS employees (10 drivers, 1 mechanic) were notified on Monday, that operations will cease as of November 25th. As of November 23rd all trips will be handled by Rolling Plains Management. That company has agreed to interview and give priority to those employees who lost their job due to the closure
