The Wichita Falls Police Department and the Wichita Falls Fire Department were on the scene of two accidents on Highway 287 near the Hammond Road/Waurika Exit, on Monday morning.
Just after 11:00 a.m. a pickup truck was involved in a minor accident that spilled debris on Highway 287 near Fisher Road.
Minutes later, while trying to avoid the debris, a tractor trailer carrying 57 head of cattle over-turned near the Hammond Road Exit.
Wichita Falls Animal Control was called to the scene of the crash. While northbound lanes have been reduced to one open lane to allow the cattle to be transferred to another truck for transportation, southbound lanes are expected to be closed to allow for the transportation of cattle.
