McNeal tabbed Lone Star Conference Player of the Week

Midwestern State's Bretson McNeal garnered Lone Star Conference Player of the Week honors Tuesday afternoon after leading the Mustangs to a season opening 103-52 win over Oklahoma City.
The 6-2, 185-pound senior from Minneapolis connected on a career-high six 3-pointers as MSU hit 14 3s a team against the Stars. The most since hitting 19 against East Central (Okla.) during the 2008-09 season.
McNeal hit each of his six shots from the field -- all from 3-point range -- and was 4-for-4 from the free throw line on his way to a game-high 22 points.

He also grabbed three rebounds, dished out two assists and made two steals in 21 minutes as the Mustangs claimed a season opening win for the fifth consecutive season.
Tarleton State senior forward E.J. Reed scored 18.5 points and snagged 10 rebounds a game helping the Texans to wins over Adams State and Colorado-Colorado Springs last weekend in Stephenville.
Midwestern State heads to Colorado for a pair of games against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opponents this week. The Mustangs take on Colorado State-Pueblo on Thursday and Adams State (Colo.) on Saturday. Both games tip off at 8 p.m. (Central Time).
