Fighting Holiday Hunger

Fighting Holiday Hunger

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and the United Supermarkets has reached out to the community to help put food on the tables for some local families in need.

United Supermarkets are accepting non-perishable food items to help the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank, and they said helping the community is one of their top priorities, especially during the holidays.

“There are so many people in this area, not just including Wichita Falls, but in the surrounding counties that do without thanksgiving and do without food, and this is just to provide meals for those people," said United Supermarket Store Director, Mitchell Veitenheimer.

All of this would not be possible without a helping hand from the community, and United Supermarket shoppers are eager to give to those in need.

“Helping them out I think is a great way to show the community that we support others and not just us, and you know keeping the holiday spirit alive,” said Jennifer Martinez.

You can help out too by dropping of canned and dry products at your local United Supermarket, or you can contribute a dollar at the checkout.

The United Family wants people to know that although the “U Can Share Food Drive” ends tonight, they will be accepting donations until Thanksgiving Day.
