A mid-morning shooting during an attempted robbery in the 4700 block of Southwest Parkway leaves two injured, one is a suspect and according to the Wichita Falls Police another suspect is still on the loose.
Police said the shooting took place just before 11:00 a.m. Thursday, at Texoma Armory located in the Southwest Plaza strip mall.
When officers arrived both the victim, and a suspect had gunshot wounds to their upper torso areas.
According to police the suspect entered the store and exchanged gunfire with the store owner.
Both the store owner and the one suspect wounded have been hospitalized.
That injured suspect has been identified as Charles Johnson. He is out of surgery and is listed in stable condition. The victim is also out of surgery but an update on his condition is not yet known.
As a result of the incident WFISD campuses were placed on Red Alert, but after speaking with the Wichita Falls Police the situation was listed as all clear and classes resumed as scheduled around 2:15 p.m.
In their search for a second suspect, officers found a vehicle in the 5200 block of Professional Drive.
The vehicle, a Chevrolet Impala, is believed to be involved in the incident, and has since been impounded.
Officers are seeking a warrant to search a residence on Professional Drive believed to be linked to the investigation.
Police are investigating the incident as an Aggravated Robbery.
