Santa is in town visiting one of Wichita Falls oldest and most popular nationally recognized historical landmarks. Santa House at the Kell House Museum began December 1 and will run until Sunday, December 6.
For a price of $3 kids and families in the Texoma region are treated to a Christmas tour through the more than 100 year old home. The kids are able to hear Christmas stories, meet Santa, decorate cookies with Mrs. Clause, and create their own unique ornaments to take home to place on their tree. Stacie Flood is the Kell House Museum Curator.
"We have got a lot of school groups coming through, but we are also open to families on the weekend and Friday evenings," said Flood.
The event is one of the biggest fundraisers for the nationally recognized historic home. The funds are used to help restore both the interior and exterior of the building. On Thursday, kids from the Bible Baptist school received a tour of their own.
"The kids, they love the story telling. Santa is just amazing with 'The Night Before Christmas' and a lot of our children do not get that at home so they at least get the information here," said Pat Cook, otherwise known as Mrs. Pat to her Bible Baptist school children.
The tours run through the end of the weekend. Kell House has asked that people try to call ahead to make reservations. You can call the Kell House at (940) 723-2712.
