Wichita Falls Man Arrested On Child Endangerment Charges

A Wichita Falls man is in the county jail after investigators said he kept a door locked inside his home, creating an unhealthy situation for a child. Police said the investigation into Jeremy Lynn Cook started on December 3rd.

Child Protective Services along with Wichita Falls police detectives went to the 36 year-old's  home and noticed one of the rooms, where a younger child slept, had a strong smell of urine and feces.

They said there was only a mattress on the floor, with no sheets and very little else. They arrest affidavit stated cook used a bungee cord to prevent the child from leaving the room, for as long as 11 hours, and only let the child free from the room to go to school.

The child's mother said it started as punishment for the child who was caught eating Halloween candy.
