Iowa Park Wastewater Project

Iowa Park Wastewater

IOWA PARK, TX (KAUZ) - Big changes are coming to the Iowa Park Wastewater Aeration System.
New blowers, electrical panels, a backup generator and bar screens will be added during the project.
Monday night City Commissioners voted in favor of a $25,000 dollar addition to the budget for an additional bar screen.
Water customers will not notice the changes because no water will go offline.
The backup generator will run for the entire time improvements are being made.
The changes will not affect drinking water because it is the Wastewater Plant that is being upgraded.
The water used at the plant is bought from Wichita Falls and goes through multiple cleaning stages before being released.
The entire project is estimated to cost close to $425,000 dollars and is expected to be finished in 3 months.
City Manager Jerry Flemming says the improvements will help the system run more efficiently and that it will be a simple system with simple parts.
He also said that the improvements will save the city money in the long run.
