The largest traffic safety funding from TxDOT, S.T.E.P. is helping make sure residents are safe while on the roads.
The selective traffic enforcement program help overtime activities by law enforcement to reduce the incidence of speeding, driving while intoxicated, and other traffic violations.
Organizations eligible for step funds include the Texas Department of Public Safety and so far, TxDOT has seen more than 200 intersection violations, and more than 100 adult seat belt violations.
