HOUSTON, TX (KAUZ) - Authorities in Texas are looking for a man they say is a violent sex offender, with an extensive criminal past.
Robert Houston Hayes was released from a south Texas intermediate sanction facility in Houston on October 23rd, and was scheduled to report to an El Paso halfway house the following day. But he never showed up, and authorities have been unable to find him.
The ankle monitor he was wearing was found in junction, Texas, North West of San Antonio.
In 1998 Hayes was convicted of the sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl in Nebraska.
He's currently wanted for a number of charges including armed robbery.
