QUANAH, TX (KAUZ) -

In early December Quanah City Council passed a Water line improvement grant project.
Tonight the council was able to get an update on the progress.
Crews have been working hard to replace the lines that run between 2nd and 3rd Street, 3rd and 4th Street, and Earle and Black Street.
Contractors have made their way to Earle with the line.
However, this is a lengthy process.
The city was given a grant from the Texas Community Development Program for $275,000 dollars and it was decided that those areas were the most in need for that work.
The water line project began on December 7th and council members tell us that so far the project has not had any major setbacks.
Quanah officials are also looking for a back up power source for the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
This comes after the winter storm that hit in late December, caused some major problems and left Quanah with no power.
