COTTON COUNTY. OK (KAUZ) - A Cotton County Sheriff's Deputy continues to fight for her life tonight. On New Year's Eve Brooke Stranahan was diagnosed with breast cancer.
That's why a benefit is being held to help make her fight, a little easier. She's a mother of five with children ranging from three to eleven. She has spent her life helping those in need, first as an EMT now as a sheriff's deputy.
That's why many in the community say, now is the time to give back. The benefit is being held at Texas Nite Life in Wichita Falls on Sunday, February 28th.
Doors open at 11 a.m. and admission is free for the public. There will be a raffle, silent auction, live bands, and much more. You can also participate in a motorcycle ride.
Registration for the ride starts at 11 a.m. It's $15.00 for single riders, and $20 for doubles. That registration fee also includes a meal.
Meal plates are $7.00 for non-riders. If you cannot attend the benefit you can still help. A gofundme account has been set up, you can donate here.
Shirts are also on sale for $20. You can learn more by heading to the event Facebook page.
