WICHITA FALLS, TX -

The race is on for a good cause here in Wichita Falls. The Xpress Half Marathon gives 100% percent of its proceeds to children's organizations in our community. It's all about kids helping kids and Race Director, Michael Brown said that Wichita Falls' youth are the event's main focus.

"Part of our hallmark is that it's 100% done by kids. There's kids at every water station out here. Kids will be at the finish line, they will be having a great time cheering on the runners, " Brown said.
The half marathon, the 12K run and the 5K run all start at Memorial Stadium Saturday at 8 am.
Proceeds from the race go to local youth soccer organizations. The Xpress Soccer Club in Wichita Falls, Wichita Falls Football Club and also Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wichita County.

225 runners have already registered and registration is open until tomorrow morning.
The event will also feature DJ Stez playing high energy music, free food and drink and lots of prizes and free drawings.

The Texas Pit Crew and Emily's Legacy will both be there with pets for adoption and the Texas Blood Institute will also be on hand doing a special X-Press Blood Drive. Blood donors are encouraged to attend. Tomorrow's event wraps up at 12 o'clock.
