CHILDRESS, TX (KAUZ)- One person is dead after a car crashed into an 18-wheeler Monday morning on Highway 83 near Childress. It happened around 11 a.m. when a 2008 Buick was traveling north and crossed the center line, striking an 18-wheeler in the side diesel tank, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
When troopers arrived, the 18-wheeler caught fire, forcing the highway to shut down.
The driver of the Buick, 52-year-old David Glynn Moore of Wellington, died at the scene from his injuries. The driver of the semi was able to get out of his vehicle with minor injuries.
