WICHITA FALLS, TX - Spring is in the air and so is the pollen. The warmer weather across Texoma has turned into a battle ground of allergy sufferers.
"I think we've all been experiencing a lot of allergies. I live in Wichita Falls and work in Vernon and Vernon is worse," Brent Crihfield said.
The spring allergy season is something nearly impossible to avoid if you live anywhere where plants grow.
"We've been suffering from allergies for probably, I have for about ten years and she has since she's been born," Danny Cook said about he and his daughter Ava's problems with allergies.
Allergy experts said when it comes to the most common allergen in the spring, first we see tree pollen then grass pollen.
"Half the time I can't breath because of the ragweed and all that other good stuff," John Bass of Wichita Falls said.
While you can't avoid all pollen, there are some things you can do to limit your exposure.
Keep your doors and windows in your home and car shut to keep pollen out.
After being outdoors be sure to shower and wash your hair so you don't bring pollen inside with you.
Also, make sure to wipe off your pets when they come inside and don't let them sleep in your bed. Doing so could transfer pollen.
If you're a veteran spring allergy sufferer, start taking medications before symptoms begin.
