A New business could be coming to downtown WF

WICHITA FALLS, TX -

Downtown Wichita Falls could soon have a grocery store and old-fashioned ice cream and soda fountain parlor.
The new business would be located at 922 Indiana. This building is more than 100 years old, three floors and 21,000 square feet.
Bill Steward has owned the property for about five years, but he said he is excited to see three young men interested in purchasing it.

He said their plan for a grocery store is a good fit for this location.

As more residential units come in down here in, it's really going to be cool for the downtown inhabitants to have somewhere they can just walk to, said Steward.

Jeanette VanDonge, the Assistant Director for the Wichita Falls Downtown Development said the owners of Big Blue are planning to turn two properties on Indiana into apartments.
She is really excited to see people investing in the area and believes the revitalization of downtown is gaining momentum.

We are looking at it as an arts and entertainment district and having some really nice restaurants, said VanDonge.
The current owners said the sale is expected to be finalized this Friday at 2 p.m.
After the closing is official, those involved will discuss their plans for the store.
