Downtown Wichita Falls is getting a grocery store

WICHITA FALLS, TX

The sale of 922 Indiana located in downtown Wichita Falls was finalized Friday.
Dane Rodriguez and his two business partners said the 100 year old building will be a full-scale grocery story with many local products.
"It's one of the key things missing from downtown and we think it's really going to help solidify downtown being a place where you don't have to leave," said Rodriguez.
He said with more residential properties expected to pop up downtown a grocery store will be great for those living in the area.
"They can stop by 922 Indiana and get whatever they need for their home and not have to be stressed about going anywhere else," said Rodriguez.
There's even been some talk about adding an old fashioned ice cream and soda fountain parlor, but the owners said their first priority is the grocery store.
However they do want to bring the nostalgic feel back to downtown, so Wichita Falls could be seeing one in the future.
Rodriguez said they have received a lot of support from the city development, 4B Board and Wichita Falls Downtown Proud, and are glad to be contributing to the revitalization of downtown.
The business trio could not give an exact timeline of when construction will begin or when the grocery store will be opening up.
Their goal is to be up and running as soon as possible.
