Straight Street Compassion Run

WICHITA FALLS, TX -

Straight Street of Wichita Falls is hosting its 10th annual Compassion Run. The event is a motorcycle run that brings motorcycle groups from all over the region, and state in an effort to help raise funds for the Straight Street Program.
"Last year we were able to raise $12,000 this year we are hoping to raise $15,000" said Straight Street volunteer, Cristy Peterson.
According to Peterson Straight Street is aimed at providing a safe Christian environment where at-risk youth can obtain the necessary skills and training needed to mature and discover God's divine plan for their lives.
"We just try to keep them off the street and give these kids a place to go. That's what this run is for, so we can keep this going," said Peterson.
The event is being held at the Evangel Temple Church located at 3800 Barnett Road. The run begins with registration at 9 in the morning and the first bike will leave the church parking lot at 10 in the morning. Riders will take their motorcycles around the Texoma region making various stops at motor bike shops along the way to collect and promote the Straight Street program. The cost for a rider is $15 for a single rider and $20 for two riders or more.
