WICHITA FALLS, TX - Gunshots in a residential area in the Falls led to one woman's arrest Tuesday morning.
Wichita Falls police responded to a call of gunshots around 11:30 P.M. Monday night in the 200 block of North Beverly Drive.
When officers arrived on scene, they say they found 29-year-old Sara Marie Choate covered in mud. While officers were talking with Choate, they spotted a handgun laying on the kitchen counter. Officers later found several spent casings near the backdoor of the residence.
Choate was detained and charged with firing a weapon in a residential area and assault family violence.
CPS was called out to the home because there were three children inside the home when it happened.
Choate told police she was just shooting the gun outside, but gave no reason as to why.
Police believe alcohol played a part in the incident.
No injuries were reported.
