ELECTRA, TX (KAUZ) - The Electra Police Department has confirmed a second teacher is being investigated for an improper relationship with a student.
Scott Hogue, the Electra Independent School District's superintendent, said Megan Shed is currently on administrative leave.
Shed is a second-grade teacher for the Electra ISD.
Superintendent Hogue sent NewsChannel 6 this statement.
" I was made aware of a potential problem concerning a substitute teacher, a contract teacher, and a student. Electra ISD immediately contacted the Electra police department for further investigation. " -Scott Hogue, Electra ISD superintendent.
Hogue said Shed is around 30 years old and has worked for the district about four years.
Around 4 p.m. on Friday Michael Dozier, the Electra Police Chief, said he was handing over the case to the Wichita County Sheriff's Office.
Bobbie Streit, the Electra ISD substitute who is charged with three counts of an Improper Relationship Between an Educator and a Student was released on bond Thursday.
The male student Streit is accused of having an improper relationship with is a 19-year-old senior from Electra High School.
The Electra Police Chief said the teacher involved in the second investigation has not been arrested or charged.
Within the past year Texoma has seen a handful of cases similar to these.
Earlier this year a former Graham Junior High School Instructional Aide was arrested for Sexual Assault of a Child and Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student, and a Wichita Falls ISD teacher was also charged with the latter last June.
