Payne enters guilty plea

Payne enters guilty plea

WICHITA FALLS, TX - A Wichita Falls woman enters a guilty plea for an Exploitation of a Person with a Disability charge.

Robin Frances Payne entered this plea Friday afternoon in the 30th District Court in the Wichita County Courthouse.

Judge Bob Brotherton accepted her plea and said she will return to court Monday morning as things move forward.

In 2013, Wichita County Sheriff's Deputies went to a home in the 3100 block of North East Dr. to serve an arrest warrant for Mickey Stewart.
As deputies entered the home they said the smell of feces and urine was overwhelming.

After investigating they discovered a 25-year-old disabled woman inside a five-foot cage with a mattress at the bottom, covered in feces.

"She couldn't see, she couldn't articulate anything. She just made noises. Almost like animal noises," Wichita County Sheriff David Duke said in 2013.

Shortly after the discovery Payne was arrested and charged.
Newschannel 6 will be in the courtroom Monday to bring you the very latest on this developing story.
