The Mustangs earned the top seed for the third-straight season after posting a 15-8 overall record with six of their 11 wins over Division II opponents coming against nationally-ranked programs in 2016. Midwestern posted a 10-1 record against in-region foes and earned the top seed in the NCAA regional rankings last week after defeating previous-No. 1 Cameron, 6-3, at the MSU Tennis Center on Apr. 20.
Midwestern will host No. 4 seed St. Edward's (Texas) in its fourth-straight NCAA showing Saturday at 2 p.m. at the MSU Tennis Center. The Mustangs defeated the Hilltoppers, 5-2, back on Apr. 15 in Austin.
